Privacy Policy

NextSite is built on a simple promise: nothing about your location moves until you decide it does. This policy explains what information NextSite collects, why, how it's shared, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

NextSite (the "App") is operated by Anchored Vines Consulting LLC ("NextSite," "we," "us," or "our"). If you have questions about this policy or your information, contact us at support@nextsiteapp.com.

This policy applies to the NextSite iOS app and this website. It does not apply to third-party services you may reach through the App.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what the App needs to work. Everything below is collected to provide and operate app features (App Functionality), is linked to your account, and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Name	Shown on your profile so connections can recognize you.
Email address	To create and secure your account and to sign you in.
Account identifier	A user ID that ties your profile, check-ins, and connections together.
Precise location	Read only at the moment you check in, to place your check-in and calculate who is within a day's drive.
Coarse location	An approximate area used for proximity and discovery features.
Photos or videos	Any images you choose to add — for example, to your profile or rig.
Other content you create	Your check-ins, rig profile details, waves, and messages you send within the App.

We do not collect this information in the background or while the App is closed. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers, and the App declares no tracking in its Apple privacy manifest.

3. How we use your information

To create your account and sign you in.
To place a check-in when you choose to check in, and to show which of your friends are within a day's drive.
To let you discover travelers who have marked themselves open to meetups, and to send waves and messages.
To display your profile and rig details to the people you've chosen to share them with.
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.

We use your information for these purposes only. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Location, specifically

Location is central to how NextSite works, so we're explicit about it:

The App requests location only when you actively check in. It does not read your location in the background or while the App is closed.
Once you check in, your position does not change for others until you check in again.
You control location access through your iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, and you can revoke it at any time. Some features will not work without it.
You choose the visibility of each check-in; nothing is shared with a person you haven't chosen to share it with.

5. How your information is shared

We share information only in these limited ways:

With other users, by your choice. Your name, profile, rig details, check-ins, and waves/messages are visible to the people you share them with, according to the visibility settings you choose in the App.
With service providers who run the App for us. We use Supabase (Supabase, Inc.) to host our database, authentication, and backend. Supabase processes your information on our behalf under its own security and privacy commitments. If we add Sign in with Apple, Apple processes your sign-in on Apple's terms.
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or NextSite.
In a business transfer. If NextSite is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in who controls your information.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a commercially reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

7. Your choices and rights

Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile and rig details in the App.
Account deletion. You can delete your account and its associated data from within the App, or by emailing support@nextsiteapp.com.
Location. You can turn location access on or off at any time in iOS Settings.
Regional rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act). To exercise any of these, email us — we will not discriminate against you for doing so. Because we do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no "sale" to opt out of.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access to who-can-see-what is enforced at the database level, and we limit access to personal information to what's needed to operate the App. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

NextSite is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

NextSite is operated from the United States, and your information is processed there and in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of NextSite after an update means you accept the revised policy.
